Jacobus Cornelius Kapteyn and the Rotation of the Milky Way
On June 18, 1922, Dutch astronomer Jacobus Cornelius Kapteyn passed away. Kapteyn carried out extensive studies of the Milky Way and was the discoverer of evidence for galactic rotation.
